fun date at the art institute with my ten-year-old cousin. we started by looking at the thorne miniature rooms in the basement (the second is a french salon. there is a tiny eiffel tower in the window view). anything miniature is exciting to me. the other day at target (something else i missed in france) i found the cutest miniature tin nivea cream.
i had been waiting to see the modern wing since it wasn't open last time i visited. my favorite part was the small ana mendieta collection. it reminded me of my college days when i first discovered women artists.
